The 75th anniversary of MacArthur Road will be celebrated this year.
On March 29, Whitehall Township historian Karen Gensey will speak on the history of the road during a meeting of the Whitehall Historical Preservation Society.
The meeting will be held 7 p.m. at Helfrich Springs Grist Mill, Mickley and Lehnert roads.
All are welcome. Parking is available at the mill and across the street at Advanced Valve.
Admission is free, and refreshments will be served.
The official kickoff of the 75th anniversary celebration will be April 22.
The MacArthur Road 75 Gala will be held 6-11 p.m. at the east entrance of Whitehall Mall.
Whitehall restaurants will have serving stations.
The event is for those age 21 and over. There will be a cash bar.
Entertainment will be by Band of Brothers.
