Dennis W. Edgar, 69, of Macungie, died Feb. 17, 2017. He was the husband of Cheryl A. (McCoy) Edgar. They were married 46 years. Born in Bethel Park, he was the son of the late Henry E. and Elizabeth M. (Gallaher) Edgar.

He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War era and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.

For 30 years, he was the sole proprietor of Classic Construction and not only remodeled homes but made long-lasting friends of his customers. Previously, he was employed as a mechanical engineer for 15 years at Ingersoll Rand and Rockwell International.

He was associated with Lehigh Valley Presbyterian Church.

Grumpy, as he was lovingly referred to by his grandchildren, loved cars, especially his 1964 Corvette.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Julie, Jennifer and her husband Craig Boyer, Jessica; son, Jeffrey and his wife Nicole; nine grandchildren.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Feb. 24 in the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 274 N. Krocks Rd., Allentown. Call 7 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 23 as well as 9:30 a.m. until time of service Feb. 24 in the funeral home.
