Kindergarten registration for children in the district who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 will take place April 19 and 20 at Northwestern Elementary School.

Northwestern Elementary

The Boosterthon Fun Run Day will take place Feb. 9.

An awards assembly is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Feb. 13 for morning kindergarten and third, fourth and fifth grades.

Kindergarten and first and second grades will receive awards 2 p.m. the same day.

Snow date is Feb. 15.

Book trades will occur on the following days for each grade: fifth grade, Feb. 27; fourth grade, Feb. 28; third grade, March 1; second grade, March 2; and first grade, March 3.

Weisenberg Elementary

All kindergarten students are to attend school in the morning of Feb. 15 for Kindergarten Safety Town.

Weisenberg is looking for cellphone donations to use with the new Google Cardboard viewers.

Google Cardboard uses cellphone technology to create an immersive virtual reality experience, where users feel as if they have been transported to national museums and parks, local attractions, etc.

To donate, notify the child’s teacher and send the phone to school.

Compatible phones are: iPhone 5, iPhone 6, and Android phones, as long as they are running Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) or above, which was released in 2012.
