Robert I. Schwartz, 76, of Macungie, died in his home on Jan. 26, 2017. He was the husband of Francine S. (Schuster) Schwartz. The couple would have celebrated 46 years of marriage June 25. Born in Manhattan, he was the son of the late Sydney and Rose (Kirschman) Schwartz.

He was a member of Keneseth Israel Synagogue.

He received his bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications from Boston University in 1962 and was working towards a law degree. He worked in claims and marketing for Commercial Union, Great American, Transamerica and lastly AIG Insurance Company until 1997. Following retirement, he worked as a security guard at Dorney Park for several years.

He enjoyed being an umpire for Fayetteville-Manlius Little League. He was a volunteer fireman and captain at Freeport Fire Co. and volunteer fire commissoner in Scotia, N.Y.

He is survived by his wife; children, Lisa Ann and her husband Doel Kitterman-Rodriguez, Michael S. and his wife Tara, Tracey D. and her husband Vitali Schwartz-Litvinov; grandchildren, Sarah Rose, Savannah, Jose, Mariela, Caroline, Hannah, Noah and Vera; faithful companions, Obi and Chewy. He was predeceased by a sister, Lynn Harz.

Services are private. Arrangements were made by the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Allentown.
