Great Decisions
The 2017 Foreign Policy Association’s Great Decisions Lecture Series on important American foreign policy issues begins at 11 a.m. on February 1 at Kirkland Village, 1 Kirkland Village Circle.
The eight presentations, which last about one and one half hours each, will run through March 22. The opening topic will be “The Future of Europe”, about the current state of the European Union and its impact on U.S. foreign and economic policy. The speaker will be Marc Schleifer, regional director for Eurasia and South Asia, Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), Washington, D.C.
Future 2017 speakers and their topics are Brandon VanDyck, Lafayette College, “Latin America’s Political Pendulum”, Feb. 8; Brian Mello, Muhlenberg College, “Saudi Arabia in Transition”, Feb. 15; Lt. Col. Pat Proctor, Ph.D., the U.S. Army War College, “Nuclear Security”, Feb. 22; Chris Herrick, Muhlenberg College, “Conflict in the South China Sea”, March 1; Andrew Essig, DeSales University,“U.S. Foreign Policy and Petroleum”, March 8; Thomas Eighmy, USAID (retired) & Sundar J. M. Brown, private consultant, “Prospects for Afghanistan and Pakistan”, March 15; and Brendan Horton, World Bank (retired), “Trade and Politics”, March 22.
