Farm Link

PA Farm Link, in partnership with The Seed Farm, will offer a Farm Succession and Transition Program Jan. 24 at Lehigh County Agricultural Center, 4184 Dorney Park Road, South Whitehall.

Professionals in the agricultural industry will provide information to farm business owners who are looking to retire, scale back from farming or transition from a farm business to another adventure.

PA Farm Link, a nonprofit dedicated to “Linking Farmers to the Future,” will provide information on various aspects of creating a Farm Business Succession/Transition plan.

Often farm families start to discuss passing the farm business to the next generation, but get “stuck” on how to proceed.

Topics include: Succession/Transition from a Legal Perspective; Goals and Needs of Farm Family Members; Financial Challenges of Succession Planning; and Challenges and Successes of Farm Succession.

Speakers will include: a Mid-Atlantic Farm Credit Ag Professional; Darlene Livingston, PA Farm Link, and Attorney Jody Leighty with Stock and Leader.

Participants will be encouraged to ask questions, and will be given a list of potential resources in the area to provide future assistance with a farm succession/transition plan.

Included in the workshop is a copy of: “Planning the Future of Your Farm” Pennsylvania Edition.

There is a small fee per person for registration.
