Arthur “Pete” R. Oswald, 79, of Orefield, died Jan. 8, 2017, at Belle Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Quakertown. He was the husband of the late Sandra (Capwell) Oswald.

Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Paul J. and Agnes Esther (Shelly) Oswald.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of UAW Union 5841, retiring as a quality control expert at Mack Trucks Inc., Allentown, and Winnsboro, S.C., with 26 years of service.

He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church, Allentown.

He is survived by three daughters, Kimberly Ann and her husband Chris Miller of Coopersburg, Shennan Lee Ambrose and her companion James Tinker of Orefield and Carol Lynn and her husband Randall Harhart of Birdsboro; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Henry and Paul; five sisters, Myrtle Scholl, Doris Graberitz, Tina Melniszyn, Hattie Stewart and Janice Newhard.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Nora Ellen Oswald.
