Robert “Rupp” P. Kocher, 88, of Whitehall, died Dec. 8, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital and Health Network, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Christine R. (Becks) Kocher for 66 years.

He was a son of the late Joseph and Marion (Crauthmal) Kocher.

He was a sanitation foreman for Whitehall Township for 20 years until he retired in 1991. He was previously a truck driver for Ralph D. Weaver Oil Company for several years.

He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Egypt.

He volunteered with Egypt Park Association. He was an honorary member of Egypt Memorial Park Board of Directors. He was a former volunteer firefighter and treasurer of Egypt Fire Company.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert G. of Whitehall and Ronald J. and his wife Dorothy of Doylestown; a daughter, Denise C. and her husband Raymond Gangaway of Whitehall; a brother, John of Walnutport; two sisters, Lorraine and her husband Lee Oswald of Slatington and Thelma and her husband Richard Seidel of New Tripoli; two granddaughters, Christy and her husband Carey Furlo and Nicole; and a great-grandson, Zachary.
