Reuben J. Bachman, 74, of Germansville, died Nov. 11, 2016, in his home.

Born Dec. 16, 1941, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Norman L. and Lila F. (Peter) Bachman.

A lifelong farmer in Heidelberg Township and an independent truck driver for many years as well, he served two terms as road supervisor of Heidelberg Township.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Heidelberg Union Church, Heidelberg Township.

A life member of many local fire companies and rod and gun clubs, he was a member of Grundsau Lodge 18, Emerald.

His survivors include a son Randy J. Bachman of Bowmanstown; companion Patricia J. Snyder of Germansville and her children Annette M. Gomez of Germansville, and Matthew R. Bednar of Whitehall; grandchildren Jade and Max Gomez; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Norman P. Bachman.
