Matilda Scharl, 98, of Allentown, died Nov. 9, 2016, at ManorCare Health Services, Allentown.

Born in Cementon, she was a daughter of the late August Sr. and Mary (Szimitz) Scharl.

She was a farm hand for 50 years for Jeras Corporation, Allentown, on a farm in South Whitehall Township until she retired in 1980.

She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hoken- dauqua.

She is survived by a sister, Arlene and her husband Ray Gogle of Whitehall.

She was predeceased by two brothers, August “Jake” Jr. and Joseph; and two sisters, Mary Torba and Ida Gontar.
