George A. Shumberger, 93, of Kissimmee, Fla., or formerly of Whitehall, died Oct. 30, 2016. He was the husband of Mary Jane Shumberger for 65 years.

He was born in Enola.

He was a graduate of Enola High School and a 1954 graduate of Penn State University.

He was in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a retired computer programmer.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kissimmee, Fla. He was a former member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall, where he was a choir member and was on the church council.

He was a member of the former Whitehall Exchange Club; Jordan Arch Chapter 203, Allentown; Allen Council 23 R&S MM, Allentown; Allen-Beauceant Commandery 20 Knights Templar, Allentown; Veterans of Foreign Wars American Legion Post 0367; Good Samaritan Village Veterans Association Jordan-Martin Masonic Lodge F&AM Lodge 673; Hill Toppers; and the New Life Group.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Kurt A. and his wife Linda of Center Valley; and a grandson, Kurt Erich George Shumberger of Center Valley.
