Francis “Doc” Xavier Kelly, 81, of New Tripoli, died Nov. 5, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Carol J. (Gable) Kelly for 58 years.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Francis E. and Dorothy R. (Keen) Kelly.

He was graduate of West Philadelphia Catholic School for Boys.

He was a warrant officer in the National Guard and from which he was honorably discharged in 1961.

He was a nuclear medicine service engineer for Picker International, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, for many years until he retired.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Orefield, where he served as an usher.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Francis E. and his wife Jennifer of New Tripoli, Patricia T. and her husband Augustino Quattrini of Allentown and Kathleen K. and her husband John Modrowsky of Florham Park, N.J.; a brother, Terrance and his wife Nora Kelly of Philadelphia a sister, Many Lain of Broomall; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
