George Hoffman, 85, formerly of Upper Hanover Township and Macungie, died Oct. 27, 2016, in Above and Beyond, Allentown. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Kern) Hoffman. Born in Philadelphia, he grew up in Lower Milford Township.
He worked as a forklift operator for the Pillsbury Company for 35 years, retiring in 1994. After retirement he worked for Lehigh Services and did yard work for Dick Muller.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Red Hill, where he was a past church council member.
He honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was a former firefighter, assistant chief, and engineer for Red Hill Fire Company, was a member of the PA State Fireman’s Association, was a life member of the Montgomery County Fireman’s Association and volunteered at the Macungie Flower Garden. He enjoyed going to car, truck, and tractor shows and firemen’s parades.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Alan S. and his wife Nancy J., of Macungie and David M. and his wife Susan, of Allentown.
