Fenstermacher chooses Pitt

Northampton’s KJ Fenstermacher is the latest senior wrestler on the team to announce his college of choice, as he posted his decision on Twitter Monday night.

“Proud to announce that I’ve decided to stay in PA and continue to chase my academic and athletic goals at the University of Pittsburgh,” Fenstermacher posted.

Fenstermacher, who transferred to Northampton for his senior year from Liberty, was third in the state last year at 120 pounds. His career mark is 118-13 and he joins fellow senior teammate Dan Moran, as two K-Kid wrestlers that have already verbally committed to Division-I programs.

In early October, Moran announced his decision to attend Lehigh, one of the top-10 programs in the nation.

Moran carries a 108-21 career record, including three PIAA top-five finishes in each of his first three years.

The pairing of Moran and Fenstermacher, give the Kids two studs in their lightweights to pair with returning 113-pound state champion Julian Chlebove (sophomore).
