Elizabeth “Bettie” (Heffner) Smith, 84, of Allentown, died Oct. 23, 2016. She was the wife of the late David L. Smith.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late George Jacob and Helen May (Baus) Heffner.

She worked variously at the credit bureau, Hess’ Department Store, Parkland School District, Bethlehem Steel and Lehigh Valley Hospital.

She is survived by two sons, David and his wife Maki and Thomas of Walnutport; two daughters, Linda and her husband Lester Ettl of Catasauqua and Liza and her husband Mark Roth of New Port Richey, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Justin, Arlyanah, Lindsay, Lucas, Augustus, Alexander and Adrian; a great-grandson, Zayvien; a brother, George “Sonny” and his wife Lois and a sister, Dolores and her husband Jack Meitzler, all of Allentown; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Heffner of Arizona.

She was predeceased by a sister, Katheryn (Heffner) Yothers; and a brother, James “Jimmy” Heffner.
