Yagerhofer named to NCC Hall of Fame

Former Northampton volleyball player Kelly Yagerhofer was part of the 2016 Northampton Community College Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony which was held on Oct. 10.

Yagerhofer was considered one of the top volleyball players to ever don a Spartan uniform. She led Northampton to its first-ever Region XIX volleyball championship in 2012.

The Spartans finished 22-1, losing their only match of the season in the NJCAA District Championship in five sets in North Carolina.

A two-time first team all-region selection, Yagerhofer was the first Northampton student-athlete to ever be named Region XIX Player of the Year, winning the award following the 2012 campaign, during which she was also named the EPAC Player of the Year.

Yagerhofer broke the record for career kills during the 2012 season, which had stood for 25 years, and currently ranks fifth in school history. She is also second in career aces with 205, leading the NJCAA in aces per set during the 2011 season.

A medical coding and billing major at Northampton, Yagerhofer is now employed at Guardian Life Insurance.

Kelly Yagerhofer was recently inducted into the Northampton Community College Hall of Fame for volleyball.
