Janice L. (Newhard) Heiny, 83, of Walnutport, died Oct. 17, 2016, at Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Franklin D. Heiny.

Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Wilmer F. and Mazie (Hall) Newhard.

She was a seamstress at the former D & D Shirt Company, Northampton. She provided in-home child care for many years.

She was a member of Zion’s Stone United Church of Christ, Kreidersville.

She attended Walnutport Senior Group.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen L. and her husband Ronald Matthews of Branchville, N.J.; two sons, David D. and his wife Sandra L. and Glenn A. and his wife Diane, all of Lehigh Township; four grandchildren, Carrie, John, Nicole and Craig; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis; and two brothers Carl and Joseph.
