NAA roundup: Pee Wee, JV teams wins

Northampton Athletic Association games took place at the high school this past weekend where teams held their Appreciation Day celebrations against Palmer.

Pee Wee

The Kids Pee Wee team faced a tough opponent in the Panthers as both teams entered the game with the same record of 4-2.

After a strong defensive stand, Northampton took its second possession at the Panther’s 33-yard line. Six plays later Aiden Brearman scored a touchdown on a one-yard quarterback sneak. The PAT attempt was no good.

On the Kids next possession, they drove to Palmer’s 17-yard line behind solid blocking from the offensive line anchored by Kaden Garris, Espn Rosario and Kaleb Newcomb. The drive ended there, though, as time ran out in the first half.

Palmer scored next and also failed to convert the PAT tying the score at 6-6.

Late in the fourth quarter, Cazhiere Richardson came up big again on defense, stealing the ball from the Palmer running back and returning it more than 40 yards before being tackled at the one-yard line. Devlin Chevere then punched it in for the score. The game ended with NAA winning 12-6 bringing the Kids record to 5-2 with one regular season game remaining.

JV

The Kids won 21-0.

It was a big team effort and the plays of the defense as well as scores by Reph, Henritzy and Pinnock.

Extra points added by Pinnock (2) and Markulics. Big interception by Vadelund late in the game helped seal the victory for NAA.

Varsity

Caden Reph had two rushing TDs with Nino kicking for two extra points but NAA lost to Palmer.

Great defensive game that the team came up short in the end, but the Kids battled.

A big thanks to those responsible at NASD for providing the NAA the opportunity to play at the High School stadium.

NAA looks forward to its next opponent with North Parkland on Sunday.
