ARTS AT ST. JOHN’S:
The “Arts at St. John’s” October Series continues with a change in format at St. John’s Lutheran Evangelical Church, 37 S. Fifth St., Allentown.
The series opened at 12:10 p.m. Oct. 4 with Henry Lee, organist, Grace Lutheran Church, Astoria, Queens, N.Y.
In a change from the noontime start, the series continues at 7:10 p.m. Oct. 11 with a concert by David Leonhardt, jazz pianist.
Also, at 7:10 p.m. Oct. 18, Wesley Parrott, organist, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Philadelphia, presents a concert.
The October series concludes at 12:10 p.m. Oct. 25 with a concert by the William Allen High School Chorale.
Upcoming in the “Arts at St. John’s” series is 8 p.m. Nov. 12, Cordus Mundi, men’s choir, and the Bel Canto Children’s Chorus of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem presenting a concert that includes Poulenc’s “Gloria.”
Also, at 4 p.m. Dec. 18, the Vox Philia choral ensemble returns to St. John’s for a Christmas concert.
A free-will offering is taken at each concert. Parking is available at the Community Deck at Sixth and Walnut streets, Allentown.
