Whitehall Township Zoning Hearing Board at its Sept. 20 meeting made a recommendation for an Allentown developer to move forward with plans for a residential complex at Eagle Point, off Routes 145 and 329, Egypt.
This is the first in a series of steps Elysium Acquisitions LLC needs to take before any construction can occur.
The developer proposes 35 townhouses/row homes, two twin homes and a single-family dwelling on a 7.5-acre tract located in an R5A high-density residential, without apartments, zoning district. Elysium Acquisitions LLC requested a favorable interpretation of a zoning ordinance regarding the type of dwellings and dimensional requirements that are to be applied.
The proposal will now go before the township planning commission for review and recommendation. The board of commissioners will have the final approval.
In a second case during the meeting, the board denied a request that a July 5 violation notice issued by the township code enforcement officer be overturned.
Gary Hess, of Slatington, trading as Driveline LLC, has an open-ended trailer on a property he leases for vehicle repairs. The location is 1026 MacArthur Road, near the Lehigh Valley Dairies site.
Hess also sought a favorable interpretation of the definition of outside storage under the township zoning ordinance and condition of approval on a matter from a hearing Oct. 21, 2014.
The board ordered the trailer removed from the property.
