William F. Lackner, 72, of Egypt, died Sept. 17, 2016, at home. He was the husband of Rosemarie (Heckman) Lackner for 52 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late George A. and Irene A. (Leabold) Lackner.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a maintenance supervisor at the former Dent Manufacturing, Northampton, for 43 years until he retired in 2006.
He attended Egypt Community Church.
He was a member of the Grouse Hall, Ironton, Egypt VFW Post 7293 and American Legion Post 739, Hokendauqua.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Tina M. and her husband Brian S. Smith of Northampton, Dennis R. and his girlfriend Melissa Serfass of Germansville and Troy W. and his wife Lori of Whitehall; a brother, Richard Lackner of Missouri; a sister, Marlene and her husband Scott Boeman of Gilbert; a sister-in-law, Faith, wife of the late George A. Lackner Jr.; two grandchildren, Cora Lynn Lackner and William J. Lackner; nieces; and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Dennis R. Lackner.
