We Sing presents patriotic concert

We Sing Community Chorus will present “A Patriotic Tribute,” 3 p.m. Sept. 25 at St. Mary’s Church, 122 Union St., Catasauqua.

Doors open at 2:30 p.m.

A free-will offering will benefit the Catasauqua American Legion.

The 10th annual Best of North Catasauqua Autumnfest & Car Show is being planned for 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 9 at the North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St.

Hosted by the betterment committee, it will feature a food court, car show, craft and flea market area, entertainment and many activities.

Live music will be 1:30-5 p.m. by Flirtin’ with the Mob.

Entertainment will include a Scooby Doo musical show at noon, hay wagon rides, visits by Tip the Crayon and Red from Red Robin and a 1:30 p.m. magic show by Tom Yurasits.

Also featured will be pumpkin decorating, a craft tent and a kids’ treat hunt. A bounce house, face painting and fire department visit will also attract children, and a health tent and raffle prizes will attract adults.

The police department will offer fingerprinting and ID for children.

A halupki-eating contest will offer a $100 prize to the winner at the 3:30 p.m. event. Entry forms for the contest are available at North Catasauqua Borough Hall or by emailing NCataCentennial@aol.com.

The contest is open to the general public, 18 years of age and older. With 10 slots open, if all are not filled in advance, entries will be accepted on the event day.

Register for the car show and for space for the craft and flea market and vendor areas by picking up a registration form at borough hall, 1066 N. Fourth St. or by emailing NCataCentennial@aol.coms

Volunteers are being sought to help out a little or a lot on the day of the event. Several 2-3 hour volunteer positions available, such as face painting, supervising at the craft tent and the bounce house or inflating helium balloons.
