Richard F. Hartzell

Richard F. Hartzell, 88, of Bath, died Sept. 15, 2016, at Moravian Hall Square Retirement Community, Nazareth. He was the husband of the late Clista M. (Bellas) Hartzell.

Born in Hanover Township, he was a son of the late Floyd G.W. Hartzell and the late Katie J. (Mitman) Hartzell.

He was a machine repairman for 30 years, last employed by Keystone Cement Company, Bath, until he retired in 1993. Prior to that, he worked for Tashner Construction and the former Lehigh and New England Railroads as a lineman for several years. Earlier, he was a machine repairman for the former St. Regis Paper Company, Nazareth.

He was a member of Keystone Road & Gun Club and was a life member of East Bath Rod & Gun Club.

He is a survived by a daughter, Linda M. and her husband attorney Alfred Pierce of Northampton; a grandson, Rodney R. Scheckler; a great-grandson, Nicolas R. Scheckler; and a brother, David Hartzell of Crystal River, Fla.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Betty and Charlotte.
