Meredith E. Davis, 75, of Macungie, died Sept. 11, 2016, in his home. He was the husband of Janet A. (Ward) Davis for 52 years. Born in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of the late Kenneth F. and Erma C. (Duvall) Davis.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in theology from the United Wesleyan College. He attended Myerstown Theological Seminary. He was an ordained minister in the Wesleyan Church.

He worked in the loss prevention department at Boscov’s Department Store in Whitehall until he retired in 2015. Prior to that, he worked in the security and custodial departments at the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation and was a salesman for the Lance Inc. in Washington and Westmoreland.

He was a member of Calvary Wesleyan Church in Bethlehem.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Steven E. and his wife Marilyn I., of Fleetwood, Kenneth W. and his wife Judy, of Woodbridge, Va. and Roderick A., of Macungie; three sisters: Maridell and her husband Victor Detwiler, of Mesa, Ariz., Marden E. and her husband Robert Ankney, of Hunker, and Faith and her husband Bill Zierdt, of Orange City, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

Calling hours 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service 10:30 a.m. Sept. 14 in the J. S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 1601 Hamilton St., Allentown.
