Gregory Jan Cichocki

Gregory Jan Cichocki, 72, of Salisbury Township, died Sept. 3, 2016. He was the husband of Camela (Savarino) Cichocki for 43 years.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a son of the late Stephen and Frances (Perka) Cichocki.

He attended Garfield Heights High School, where he was in the high school marching band and was student conductor of the high school orchestra, and Bowling Green State University.

He was an U.S. Army reservist and had earned the rank of staff sergeant. He was a Vietnam veteran and served with the 1002nd Supply and Service Company.

He was a buyer and merchandise manager for several major department stores in California, Ohio and Allentown. He was a vice president and merchandise manager for H. Leh & Company and Jones Apparel Group.

He coached the girls and boys soccer teams for St. Thomas More and coached baseball and basketball teams. He was a volunteer for the board of directors of the Hamilton Park Athletic Association. He received a special recognition service award for his volunteerism from the Salisbury Township board of commissioners. He was the mid-Atlantic director of A.A.U. boys basketball. He played several instruments, including clarinet and saxophone.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Laura and her husband John Todor and two grandchildren, Abigail and Zachary, of Vienna, Va.; and a son, Jan-Michael and Michelle Smith of Lehigh Township.
