Edward E. Brobst Jr., 84, of Whitehall, died Sept. 9, 2016, at home. He was the husband of the late Shirley (Roth) Brobst for 43 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Edward E. and Anna (Youngkoski) Brobst Sr.
He was an Allentown High School graduate.
He was an M.P. with the Army on the front lines during the Korean conflict and was awarded a bronze star.
He was a safety inspector in the final department of Mack Trucks and retired from the Macungie plant after 33 years. He later was a bus driver for the Whitehall-Coplay School District.
He was a poll worker in Hokendauqua. He was a volunteer with the Hokendauqua Park and Playground Association. He bowled at the West Coplay Maennerchor.
He is survived by a son, Thomas and his wife Jayne (Augustine) of Whitehall; a daughter and caregiver Lisa A. Pitsilos, with whom he resided; two grandchildren, Kayla Pitsilos and Jake Onuschak and his son, Ian; and a brother, Ronald Brobst of Allentown.
He was predeceased by a son, Stephen; and two sisters, Jacquelyn Martin and Lois Leibensperger.
