Jane E. Boettcher, 89, of Bethlehem, died Aug. 23, 2016, at Cedarbrook - Fountain Hill annex. She was the wife of the late Sam Boettcher.

Born in Lamont, Alberta, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Samuel and Alice (Steininger) Wedman.

She was a 1948 graduate of Edmonton General Hospital Nursing School.

She was a Moravian missionary nurse in Nicaragua and Honduras for three years. She was a registered nurse and worked at St. Luke’s University Health Network, Easton Hospital and Allentown State Hospital before she retired in 1988.

She volunteered for Lehigh County Historical Society, NODA (No One Dies Alone) and Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by a son, Stephen Butzine and his other half Stephanie Zwetolitz of Whitehall; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by sister, Rebecca Shultz.
