Gloria A. “Dolly” Baer, 83, formerly of Schnecksville, died Sept. 4, 2016, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of the late Victor L. Baer.

Born Aug. 13, 1933, in Slatington, she was the daughter of the late Roy W. and Irene C. (Sheffler) Dorshimer.

She was a school aide at Schnecksville Elementary School for 20 years before retiring.

She was an honorary life member of Copeechan Fish and Game Club, Schnecksville, and a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.

She is survived by three daughters, Vicki S. and her husband Frank Sorg of Slatington, Candice A. Chorney of Schnecksville and Nancy L. and her husband Douglas Jones of Wescosville; two sons, Michael V. and his wife Deborah of Whitehall and Stephen M. of New Tripoli; a brother, Robert Dorshimer of Walnutport; a sister, Betty Henry of Slatington; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Natalie.

Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service 10:30 a.m., both Sept. 9 at the funeral home, 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Kris P. Snyder-Samuelson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
