Elizabeth K. Chew

Elizabeth “Betsy” K. Chew, 83, of Bethlehem and formerly of Dubois, died Sept. 1, 2016, at Holy Family Manor. She was the wife of William G. Chew for 60 years.

Born in Houtzdale, she was a daughter of the late George and Julia (Abood) Kassab.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Julie A. and her husband Stuart Shaw of Bethlehem and Beth A. and her husband Kyle Kirkpatrick of Syracuse, N.Y.; three sons, William J. and his wife Sara of Novi, Mich., David J. and his wife Patricia of Brookfield, Conn., and Richard J. and his wife Theresa of Natrona Heights; three brothers, Gabriel and his wife Gertrude Kassab, G. Edward Kassab and Raymond and his wife Anna Marie Kassab; 12 grandchildren, Aaron, Danielle and Peter Chew, Amy and her husband Peter Pula and their son Miles, Kelly and her husband Christopher Carbutt and their son Jackson, Michael, Daniel, James and his wife Laura Lettau, Tyler and Jacob Shaw, Haley and Laura Kirkpatrick; and family friend and caregiver, Danette Holzer.

She was predeceased by five sisters, Hazel Kassab, Cecilia Remeselnick, Minnie Grove, Kathryn Hocking and Theresa Brennan; and two brothers, Jacob and David Kassab.
