Chris Stapleton

Chris Stapleton, country music singer-songwriter, makes his Lehigh Valley concert debut, 7 p.m. Sept. 2, Fairgrounds Grandstand, at The Great Allentown Fair. Stapleton had a 15-year career as an in-demand session player and songwriter with six No.1 hits for country’s biggest stars, including “Never Wanted Nothing More,” Kenny Chesney; “Love’s Gonna Make It Alright,” George Strait, and “Come Back Song,” Darius Rucker. The Lexington, Ky., native with a distinctive voice and superb musicianship is now commanding the front mike of the big stages. His award-winning 2015 album, “Traveller,” which went to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, included the Billboard Hot Country No. 1 hit, “Tennessee Whiskey,” and has sold more than 1.5 million copies. Brothers Osborne opens the show.
