A 24-year-old man, of Allentown, was taken into custody for simple assault and terroristic threats after police were called to a incident in the 1000 block of Treeline Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 8:40 p.m. Aug. 12. According to police, the accused man was transported to St. Luke’s University Health Network, Allentown, for an evaluation. Charges were filed.
A 19-year-old woman, of Lower Macungie Township, was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop at the intersection of Gehman Road and Route 100, Lower Macungie Township, 11:52 p.m. Aug. 12. Police recovered marijuana and other drug paraphernalia from inside the vehicle. Charges were filed.
A 44-year-old man, of Zionsville, was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop in the 6600 block of Powder Valley Road, Upper Milford Township, 11:35 p.m. Aug. 13. Charges were filed.
A 31-year-old woman, of Trexlertown, was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and drug possession after a traffic stop at the intersection of Chestnut Street and Colebrook Avenue, Upper Milford Township, 12:24 a.m. July 27. According to police, the woman was in possession of a small amount of marijuana at the time of the traffic stop. Charges were filed.
A 38-year-old man, of Allentown, was taken into custody for receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and driving under the influence after state police conducted a traffic stop of a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck along Hamilton Boulevard at Sheppard Hill Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 9:09 p.m. Aug. 9. The truck was reported stolen from Bethlehem Aug. 8. According to police, the operator of the vehicle fled from the scene on foot, prompting a foot pursuit by police. Despite police warnings, the man continued to flee on foot onto Hamilton Boulevard. The man then took a bicycle from Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, and was seen by troopers riding into the parking lot of a fast food restaurant where he was taken into custody without incident. Charges were filed.
Reported by an Allentown man Aug. 5 at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors removed a white iPad mini tablet from a store cart. According to police, the man’s daughter left the tablet in the cart and the tablet was discovered missing after the man returned to the store to retrieve the tablet. An Emmaus man’s vehicle was struck in a hit-and-run accident on Chestnut Street just north of Mill Road, Upper Milford Township, 8:50 a.m. Aug. 9. According to police, a vehicle was southbound on Chestnut Street when the driver entered the northbound lane, just north of Mill Road, and struck the mirror of the vehicle driven by the Emmaus man. The driver of the southbound vehicle fled the scene without providing information.
A vehicle was traveling westbound on Orchard Road, Lower Milford Township, 10:45 a.m. Aug. 10 when the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway, onto the front yard in the 8500 block of Orchard Road and struck a mailbox. The vehicle veered back onto the road and continued westbound on Orchard Road.
A vehicle was traveling westbound on Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 11:30 a.m. Aug. 11 when the vehicle failed to make a right turn into the driveway of 5239 Hamilton Blvd. and struck a large sign. A vehicle was attempting to negotiate a left curve in the 5300 block of Shimerville Road, Upper Milford Township, 4:30 a.m. Aug. 18 when the vehicle went off the south side of the roadway and struck a guide wire connected to a utility pole. The vehicle then left the scene.
A 59-year-old man, of Macungie, was cited for harassment after police were called to the 6700 block of Ivy Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 5:35 p.m. Aug. 17. According to police, the man grabbed a 57-year-old woman by the base of her neck and pushed her into a wall. The woman reported minor pain but had no visible injuries. A citation was filed.
