The 15th annual Ironton Rail Trail (IRT) run/walk will be held Aug. 27, with the starting line at Saylor Park - where Coplay Cement Company Kilns are located - across from Coplay Parkway on North Second Street.

Race day registration is from 7 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Walkers start 8:30 a.m., and runners begin 9 a.m.

The IRT 10-K race traverses many historical iron and cement buildings in Whitehall Township and Coplay Borough.

Presented by The Emmaus Run Inn, the event will include post-race awards, ceremonies and snacks for all participants.

Awards to runners - male and female - will be given in six age groupings, two in each age group: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and over.

The event is a major fundraiser for IRT; its trail hosts many organizations with their charity runs.
