Geraldine Viola (Loch) Knecht Deily, 88, formerly of Catasauqua and recently of Luther Crest, died Aug. 15, 2016. She was the wife of the late LeRoy Knecht and the late Robert Deily.

Born in Catasauqua, she was a daughter of the late Viola (Angelstein) and Phaon Loch.

She was a 1945 Catasauqua High School graduate.

She was the first day care teacher in the Lehigh Valley, having started at Catasauqua Presbyterian Church.

She was a former member of Salem United Church of Christ, Catasauqua, where she was a Sunday school teacher.

She was a Red Hat Society member. She was involved with WIC in Allentown.

She is survived by two sons, Larry (and Donna) and Dale (and Deb); a daughter, Juliann Paladino (and Phil); nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by four sisters, Dorothy, Mildred, Gladys and Gloria.
