April L. Sweeney, 37, of Whitehall, died Aug. 14, 2016, at Temple University Hospital. She was the companion of Brett Olewine.

Born in Wurzburg, Germany, she was a daughter of Joseph G. Geake and his fiance Rose Orfield of Quakertown and Terri L. (Bruch) and her husband Michael Kernechel of Alburtis.

She worked in loss prevention for Sears, Kmart and Weis stores in the Lehigh Valley.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Ryan and his father Dave Sweeney; maternal grandparents Mitzi Geese and Arthur Bruch; and two brothers, Jeremy J. of Green Lane and Michael T. Kernechel of Alburtis.
