Allentown Northeast Kiwanis Club meets at Denny’s Restaurant, 1871 Catasauqua Road, noon Wednesdays, except the last Wednesday of the month, when members meet 5:15 p.m.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers, dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Visitors are always welcome.

The Catasauqua Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is having a half-price sale Aug. 22-27.

Donations of good, used, clean clothing are gratefully accepted during store operation hours, which are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Proceeds from the thrift shop support community youth and adult programs and services.

The Pennsylvania Avenue Interfaith Food Pantry, located at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, is open 6-8 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays of each month. Walk-ins are welcome. The food bank is open to anyone needing assistance with feeding a family.
