Doris L. Kunkle, 90, formerly of Emmaus, died Aug. 8, 2016, in the Phoebe Home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Paul F. Kunkel, with whom she celebrated 66 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of William J. and Burnetta K. (Smith) Leh.

She was a graduate of Cedar Crest College and Allentown Hospital School of Nursing. She was proud of her nursing degree and her ability to help others throughout her life.

She was a member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, serving on the altar guild.

She volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

She loved chocolate, dogs, roller coasters, seashells and being a grandmother. Her family will miss family dinners and her support. A special thanks to Laura Corby for her help and care.

She is survived by her husband; son, Douglas C. and his wife Bonnie, of Renton, Wash.; daughter, Nanette C. and her husband Robert Dudley, of Cottonwood Heights, Utah; grandchildren, Christopher and Elizabeth Dudley.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Aug. 20 in Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown, 18103. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
