Helen Gavalla, 83, of Whitehall, died Aug. 4, 2016, at home. She was the wife of the late George J. Gavalla Sr.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Grabarits) Yurasits.

She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Northampton.

She is survived by a son, George J. Jr. and his wife Maria, Joseph, Terry, Kevin and his wife Lori; three grandchildren, Adam, Carly and Casey; a sister, Rose and her husband Fred Hurban; nephews and nieces, including Joan, Jane and Mary.
