Irene L. “Rene” Halfacre, 87, of Salisbury Township, died Aug. 3, 2016, at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston. She was the wife of the late George “Fritz” Halfacre, Jr. who died Sept. 27, 2015. Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Oravec) Vlossak.

She was a member of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Allentown.

She attended Moravian College and was presently a volunteer at Lehigh Valley Hospital and previously at St. Thomas More School.

She loved everyone, her large extended family, friends and all the coaches and players she met through her late husband.

She is survived by children, Linda C. and her husband Craig A. Medei Sr., of Bethlehem, Sandra and her husband Frank Haas, of St. Thomas, Roxanne Michels and her fiance Gene Legath, of Emmaus, Thomas and his wife Donna, of Coatsville; sister, Eleanor Riddle, of Easton; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by siblings, Joseph Vlossak, Honey McInerny and Barbara Rush.
