A Northampton-based band, Scars of Bourbon, is making its mark on the area.
The group is composed of four members - drummer Justin Hoffman, guitarists Jonnie Wesner and Guido DiDomenico, and vocalist and guitarist Paul Hoffman.
The Hoffman brothers have been playing music together for years, according to an email to The Press from Paul Hoffman.
“My brother and I have been playing and writing music for 26 years,” he wrote.
According to Hoffman, Wesner joined the group three years ago, and DiDomenico joined nearly a year ago.
“It’s weird how it worked out because we all knew each other back in school,” Hoffman said.
The group plays in many areas besides the Lehigh Valley but recently had a gig at The Gin Mill & Grille, Main Street in Northampton.
“The Gin Mill has a great stage and sound system,” Hoffman said. “Their staff is top notch, and we’ve become close with them over the years from playing there and being regulars.”
The band is currently in the process of setting up more shows.
Hoffman said the band has had some interesting experiences, including opening up for Bam Margera.
“It was close to New Year’s Eve, and it was the last show on their tour,” Hoffman said. “They are a crazy group of people, and we were definitely in a wild mood that night.”
The band recently released a new album, “From the Far Away,” that contains 11 tracks. It is available on iTunes, Amazon or from Tate Music Group.
More information on the group is available at ScarsofBourbon.com or on Facebook.
