Earl “Butch” T. New-hart Jr., 71, of Catasauqua, died July 19, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Diane M. (Strohl) Newhart for 49 years.

Born in Whitehall, he was a son of the late Earl T. Sr. and Geraldine (Peters) Newhart.

He was an oven operator for the former Tarkett Flooring Company, Whitehall, for 32 years, until he retired in 1999.

He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Catasauqua.

He was a former member of Catasauqua Lions Club.

He enjoyed bowling and had a perfect 300 game at the former Boulevard Lanes, Allentown.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. and her husband Kelly Snyder of Catasauqua and Tina M. and her husband Keith Landis of Trexlertown; a son, Thomas E. and his wife Crystal of North Catasauqua; a granddaughter; four grandsons; and two sisters, Audrey Druckenmiller of Whitehall and Cheryl Dreher of Allentown.

He was predeceased by sister, Phyllis; and a brother, James.
