Roderick D. Kemmerer, 92, of Whitehall, died July 7, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Irene E. (Mehrkam) Kemmerer for 68 years.
Born in Cementon, he was a son of the late Harry W. and Irene E. (Semmel) Kemmerer.
He was in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a cable splicer at the former Bell Telephone, Bethlehem, for 42 years until he retired in 1989.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Allentown, where he was a former trustee.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Barbara A. and her husband Richard Balassaitis of Washington Township, N.J., and Susan B. Void of Whitehall; a son, Randy K. and his wife Karen Kemmerer of Mount Laurel, N.J.; a brother, Nathaniel P. Kemmerer of Fayetteville, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Heather, Brad, Kevin, Christy, Courtney, Caroline, Jeremy and Jason; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Atwood R. Kemmerer.
