Kermit W. Derr, 79, of Alburtis, died July 3, 2016, at the Inpatient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Carol E. (Heilman) Derr, to whom he was married 33 years. Born in Seipstown, he was the son of the late George F. and Margaret A. (Geist) Meitzler.
He worked for Kermit K. Kistler, Jaindl Farms and Caloric before retiring.
He was an Air Force veteran during the Korean War and was a member of various veteran and social clubs.
He was a member of the Old Time Plow Boys and Antique Toy and Tractor Club.
He is survived by his wife; sister, Ferne Arnold, of Topton; seven stepchildren and many grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Leon and Carl and sister Mary Lou Zettlemoyer.
Contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray final expenses.
Services will be held 10:30 a.m. July 7 at the Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Road, Breinigsville. Calling hours will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. July 6 and 9:30 a.m. July 7.
