Jack A. Cole

Jack A. Cole, 84, of Lower Macungie Township, died June 30, 2016, at LifeQuest Nursing Center. He was the husband of Mary Lou (Scott) Cole. They were married July 24, 1965. Born in Kansas City, Mo., he was the son of the late Forrest C. and Leyta (Modrell) Cole.

He taught Social Studies (geography, world culture, American and world history and civics) at William Tennent High School in Warminster before retiring in 1990.

He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Spc. 3rd Class. He also taught English conversation to Japanese classes in Kawasaki for the American Culture Society.

He was a member of St. Paul’s UCC, in Trexlertown.

He is survived by his wife; son, Scott and his wife Christine, of Quakertown; daughter, Deborah and her husband Craig Stoltz, of Quakertown; three granddaughters, Hannah, Rebecca Stolz and Brianna Stoltz; brothers, Fred, of Lansdale and Donald, of Tunkhannock; sister ,Nancy Zwart, of Coopersburg.

Calling hours 6 to 8 p.m. July 6 at Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown. Services will be 11 a.m. July 7 at the funeral home with a visitation preceding 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be 9:30 a.m. July 8 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
