McKenzi Divers of Northwestern Lehigh High School and Rebecca Blocker and Gavin Kemery of Northern Lehigh High School were honored at this year’s Miller-Keystone Blood Center High School Recognition Breakfast.

This year, 32 scholarship awards were presented by the blood center.

Presented annually in May, the Blood Donor Recruitment Scholarship is designed to encourage and reward high school blood drive chairpersons for their efforts in stimulating interest and increasing the available regional blood supply.

By hosting one or more blood drives with MKBC and achieving certain recruitment benchmarks, a student from each participating high school is guaranteed a scholarship award.

Awards are now presented per school, based on the results of the individual school’s blood drives during the academic year.

Recipients of a scholarship award must have been an active participant of their high school’s blood drive committee.
