Charles G. Remmel Jr., 91, of Allentown, died June 6, 2016, at his home. He was the husband of the late Phoebe (Wolfe) Remmel.
Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Charles and the late Grace (Brader) Remmel.
He was a Hospital Apprentice First Class in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a self-employed insurance agent for 30 years and owned and operated the former Remmel Insurance Agency, Northampton, until he retired in 1992.
He was a full-time bus driver for Parkland Area School District for 36 years.
He was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Northampton.
He was a former member of Northampton Exchange Club.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas P. and his wife Patricia of Nipomo, Calif. and Chris C. and his wife Jeanne of Coopersburg; a daughter, Connie J. Votta of Northampton; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his housekeeper and caretaker, Jane Clark.
He was predeceased by daughter, Audrey Grube.
