Eleven of Lehigh Career and Technical Institute’s 18 student competitors placed among the top 10 during the Pennsylvania FBLA State Leadership Conference recently at Hershey Lodge.
Northwestern Lehigh High School Sam Hoffner, in web design/web programming placed eighth in the web design contest, and Tyler Shupp and Garrett Stinnard, in computer and networking technology, both placed ninth in the network design contest.
Parkland High School student Akeem Mohammed, in computer and networking technology, also placed ninth in the network design contest.
Students from Catasauqua, Emmaus, Louis E. Dieruff and William Allen high schools also competed at the competition.
One of LCTI’s top 10 finishers, Jake Smith from Emmaus High School qualified to compete at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Ga.
The FBLA-PBL, or Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, is one of seven career and technical student organizations at LCTI.
Administrative Office Technology/Accounting instructor Elaine Beam serves as the chapter advisor.
