Reda “Cookie” Kocis

Reda “Cookie” Kocis, 85, of Lower Milford Township, died June 9, 2016, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the wife of Cyril Kocis. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Helen Wieder (Wert) and William Moll.

She was a graduate of Emmaus High School.

Her most important role in life was being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved gardening, birds, entertaining and spending time in the kitchen. The fruits of her labor nourished her family, body and soul. Her cooking taught us that the kitchen was about much more than food; it was about love and finding ways to make life’s challenges palatable.

She is survived by her husband; daughter, Stephanie and her husband Richard Patton; son, Michael and his partner Lara Belloff; granddaughter, Erica and her husband, Mark; sister, Shirlene Kodash. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Moll-Reiss.

Memorial contributions may be made to Animals in Distress, P.O. Box 609, 5075 Limeport Pike, Coopersburg, 18036 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 2151 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38101-2151.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. June 17 in the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A calling hour will be held 10 to 11 a.m. June 17 in the funeral home.
