John Marshall Schocken

John Marshall Schocken, 87, of Walnutport, died June 6, 2016, at his home. He was the husband of the late Barbara Jean (Haines) Schocken for 51 years.

Born in New York, N.Y., he was a son of Minerva (Lerinan) Schocken.

He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was an emergency services supervisor for the N.Y.C. Housing Authority for 25 years until he retired in 1990.

He was a member of St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church.

He was a former baseball coach and a member of the VFW Post, both in Queens, N.Y.

He is survived by a son, Richard and his wife Diane of Massapequa Park, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Dana, Rene and Sela; a son Mark and his wife Cindi of Bethlehem; two grandsons, John Marshall II and Michael; a daughter: Debra and her husband Joseph Butto of Walnutport; and two grandchildren, Joseph II and Brianna.

Arrangements were made by Schisler Funeral Home Inc., Northampton.
