Richard C. “Strap” Snyder, Sr., 87, of Emmaus, died peacefully June 3, 2016, in his residence. He was the husband of Nancy L. (Lichtenwalner) Snyder, with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Clifford B. and Marguerite E. (Hunsicker) Snyder.

He worked as a maintenance supervisor for Pillsbury for 30 years, retiring in 1990.

He honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Emmaus and Macungie VFW and the Palm American Legion.

He was an avid golfer, handyman and hard worker.

He was a member of St. John’s U.C.C., Emmaus.

He is survived by his wife; son, Richard C. Jr., of Emmaus; daughter, Carole DeLong, of Slatington; grandchildren, Dominic, Elissa, Matthew and Adam; great-grandchildren, Makenzie and Blake. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert D. and sister, Doris Hunger.
