Eleanor L. Warg, 93, of Lehigh Commons, Macungie, died May 23, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Edward R. Heisner and Gertrude Schofield Heisner.
A graduate of Hazleton High School, Class of 1940, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Goucher College, Towson, Md., in 1944 and a Master of Library Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1972.
Her employment at Duplan Corp. in Hazleton led to her marriage in 1953 to Joseph C. Miller. He died in August 1970.
She was employed at the Hazleton Public Library in the early 1970’s. In 1974 she married Edward D. Warg. They moved to the Lehigh Valley where she worked at Educational Ventures, Inc. (Muhlenberg and Cedar Crest College Libraries) until her retirement in 1987. Edward died in 2006.
She is survived by stepsons, Henry, of California and Daniel, of Wescosville; nieces, Diane and her husband Jeoffrey Myers, of Medford, N.J., Patti, and her husband James Raynock, of Emmaus, and Joan and her husband Richard Castrina, of Sugarloaf, Luzerne County. She was predeceased by siblings, Ethel wife of Joseph Tormay and Donald S. Heisner.
